Bridget KerMorris, AMFT
Bridget began her career as a therapist after years in the legal world. She has a law degree from Stanford University and clerked for the Honorable Barry G. Silverman on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit after graduation. More recently she earned a couple and family therapy masters degree from Alliant International University. Bridget has great appreciation for education and training but her greatest teachers have been the people she has been and continues to be in relationship with, both past and present.
Bridget works with couples, parents, families, teens, children, and adults. As a relational therapist, she views relationships using an attachment lens and has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples (EFT) and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). With individuals, Bridget uses a relational approach and has advanced training in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems parts work (IFS). Her training in ADHD therapeutic care is extensive, person-centered, and holistic. It goes beyond brain-based symptoms and addresses the influence ADHD has on mood, self esteem, emotion regulation, and relationships.
In her therapeutic relationships, Bridget walks alongside clients as they work to transform their most important relationships with loved ones and with themselves. She has a heart for and offers affirming care to all people and is committed to learning and growing in her care for marginalized couples, individuals, and families, particularly those in the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities.
Bridget's specialties include journeying with parents as they reconnect with and support their teens, treating complex PTSD, and supporting neurodivergent individuals as well as their partners and families. The analytical skills Bridget honed as a lawyer paired with her ability to quickly comprehend complex situations means she can effectively help her clients develop a vision for their future and begin the work to achieve that vision in an efficient and effective way that has clients experiencing relief as soon as possible.
